2026 Data Detectives Big Data Summer Academy at Emory University Application

This is a free program with a competitive application process where you will learn hands-on data science in a fun and welcoming environment. It is funded by an NIH SEPA grant and is open to rising 7th, 8th, and 9th graders. The program will run from June 8-18, 2026 from 9am to 3pm, Monday through Friday.

This summer is a two week program where students will learn about cancer etiology, cancer disparities, cancer as a community health problem, and data science. Students will also have the opportunity to visit some CORE programs in Winship Cancer Institute and learn about how Emory professors research cancer.
