Our Mission
Georgia Science Education Initiative (GSEI) integrates health and data science education into the real life experiences of students and communities. GSEI plays a proactive role in developing skills, scholarship and expertise within students, equipping them to compete in the STEM field and make meaningful contributions as an alumni. GSEI aims to play an intermediate role between advancements STEM and applicable education for communities.
Our Goals​
1. Motivate students to pursue STEM careers through mentorship, research activities, educational intervention, and exposure to various academic tracks and fields of study within the biomedical field.
​2. Evaluate the effectiveness of educational programs to meet the goal of motivating student interest in STEM. ​
3. Provide meaningful training in big data research methods to improve community health literacy.
​
4. Promote connections and networks between students, community members, and professionals focused on community health and the biomedical field.
